Resumo: Allergic Contact Stomatitis (ACS) is an immunoinflammatory disorder caused by an antigen-specific T cell mediated hypersensitivity immune reaction to an exogenous allergen or allergens that are in contact with oral mucosa. An 80-year-old woman presented a recent 1-month history of a painful ulcerated and depapilated tongue, VAS 6. Physical and radiological examination were unremarkable. Intraoral examination reveals a full toothless mouth with use of upper dental prothesis and lower implant - supported bar without lower dental prothesis, and presence of many like-herpetiform ulcers in tongue and internal surface of lower lip.Histopathologic biopsy shows epithelium atrophic areas and hyperkeratosis or acanthosis areas, with presence of heavy lymphocytic inflammatory infiltrate with histiocytes, eosinophils and plasma cells and some dilated vessels, confirming the diagnosis.Clinical treatment was to remove implant supported bar and use of topic corticoids for three weeks. Later control indicated absence of initial symptoms and presence of normal oral tissues.
