Título: CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS WITHOUT RELATION TO THE RADIOGRAPHIC FINDING IN THE MANDIBLE: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 40-year-old female patient, referred with complaint of painful symptoms in face for approximately three months. During the physical examination, reports discomfort in left cheek region with episodes of pain, denies comorbidity. She also reports that in previous consultation, imaging tests were requested, and lesion was observed in body of the mandible. In intra and extraoral examination, no alterations were observed. The imaging exams show hyperdense, compact area, partially delimited in medullary bone space, without cortical expansion and in close contact with the left mental foramen and ipsilateral inferior alveolar nerve canal. In view of the information collected along with the imaging tests, it´s concluded that the patient´s current clinical complaint isn´t directly related to radiographic finding, with the clinical diagnosis of idiopathic bone sclerosis, requiring no intervention. Therefore, with the detailed anamnesis, it was possible conclude that patient´s pain complaint is related parafunctional habits and bruxism.
