Resumo: A 65-year-old non-smoking and non-drinking female patient was referred to our service for evaluation of a tongue injury. Intraoral examination revealed ulcer on the lateral border of the tongue. The clinical diagnosis was squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). A biopsy was performed and histopathological examination confirmed the clinical diagnosis. The treatment of choice was surgery. After 4 years, a 47-year-old woman, the daughter of the first patient, came to our service for evaluation of a tongue lesion. In the intraoral physical examination, she had an extensive red ulcer with white peripheral areas also located on the lateral border of the tongue. The lesion was also diagnosed as OSCC and treated surgically. Currently, the daughter is being monitored without recurrence of the lesion. Her mother passed away after 6 years of treatment. This report demonstrates a rare record of OSCC in a mother and daughter treated and followed up contemporaneously.
