Título: CHONDROBLASTIC OSTEOSARCOMA AFFECTING JAW BONES: A CASE REPORT OCCURING IN THE MANDIBLE

Resumo: Chondroblastic Osteosarcoma is a rare histological subtype of osteossarcoma that can affect jaw bones, the integration of clinical and imaging aspects associated with histopathologic findings is essential to correct diagnosis and treatment. The study aims report a clinical case of chrondroblastic osteosarcoma in a 27 year-old man patient with complaint of facial swelling and chewing disconfort. Radiographically, a radiolucent area and poorly defined limits was observed at posterior mandible area, on the left side. An incisional biopsy was performed and histopathologic analysis showed proliferation of spindle cells with infiltration of the chondroid matrix, compatible with the diagnosis of chondroblastic osteosarcoma. The patient was reffered to chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment. In conclusion, this case emphasizes the importance of differential diagnosis of jaw bone lesions.
