Título: SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA IN A YOUNG WOMAN: CASE REPORT

Resumo: 38-year-old female patient, Caucasian, was referred to the stomatology clinic complaining of "pain in the tongue" and odynophagia. Anamnesis revealed smoking, alcoholism for 15 years and arterial hypertension. On extra-oral examination, cervical lymph-nodes on the left side were palpable and hardened. Oroscopy revealed, on the posterior lateral border of the tongue on the left side, an ulcerated exophytic growth lesion, covered by pseudomembrane, with irregular edges and contours, slightly hardened on palpation, with about 1.2 cm in diameter, with approximately 2 years of evolution. Diagnostic hypotheses: squamous cell carcinoma and deep granulomatous infection. An incisional biopsy was performed with a histopathological report of poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. The patient was referred for oncological treatment. This case stood out for manifesting itself in a young woman and having an aggressive histopathological grade, a clinicopathological profile distinct from the common one, justifying a more careful etiopathogenic investigation of this case.
