Título: CONSERVATIVE SURGICAL APPROACH FOR AMELOBLASTOMA: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 42-year-old male patient attended a dental appointment presenting a firm nodule at the left mandibular angle and ascending ramus without bone exposure or infection and with a history of extraction of the third molar, performed one and a half-year before the date of consultation due to root resorption associated with an osteolytic, multilobulated radiolucent lesion. The computed tomography revealed a homogeneous solid lesion with cortical destruction predominantly on the lingual aspect of the mandible, measuring 20 x 18 mm. Through an incisional biopsy, the anatomopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of a follicular growth pattern ameloblastoma. We enucleated the lesion with peripheral osteotomy without dental involvement or transoperative complications. At the 1-month control, the patient evolved without paresthesia and with total surgical wound closure. At 3 and 6 months of follow-up, we observed the new bone formation in the left body and mandible angle, with no signs of recurrence.
