Resumo: The aim of this study is to report a case of larval infestation beneath a prosthesis for facial reconstruction. A male patient, aged 28 years, who had previously been diagnosed with chondrosarcoma, underwent a significant facial resection involving the pre-maxilla, nasal cavity septum and wall, and bilateral zygomatic bone. As a result of this extensive loss of bone structure and nasal cartilaginous support, a maxillary reconstruction was performed using zygomatic implants in the pre-maxilla and a removable implant-supported prosthesis. Ten years later, the tumor recurred and involved the skull base and orbit. The patient experienced depression and refused further treatment. However, the area became infested with larvae houseflies, leading to a condition known as myiasis. The instituted treatment consisted of surgical debridement for the removal of larvae, removal of the prosthesis, and therapy with the antiparasitic drug ivermectin and intravenous antibiotic therapy.
