Título: CLEAR CELL MUCOEPIDERMOID CARCINOMA OF THE HARD PALATE: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: We aimed to report a case of a mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) with clear cells. A female 51 years-old, complaining of a painful swelling on the hard palate with 3 weeks. A cone-beam computed tomography showed an expansile, osteolytic lesion in the right maxilla, measuring 38.2 x 39.2 x 43.9 mm (H x W x L) involving the entire right maxillary sinus, hard palate, and the nasal fossa, besides external root resorption in teeth 16, 17 and 18. Fine needle aspiration was negative for liquids. Afterwards, an incisional biopsy was carried out which revealed a malignant salivary neoplasm with a predominantly solid clear cell pattern compatible with a high-grade MEC. Patient was referred, and a complete surgical resection was done which revealed a lesion composed of mucinous, intermediate, and squamous cells forming cystic and solid patterns compatible with MEC. The patient is being followed up after 16 months with no recurrence.
