Título: CLINICAL AND RADIOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS OF A CALCIFYING EPITHELIAL ODONTOGENIC TUMOR IN A PATIENT WITH OVARIAN CANCER

Resumo: A female patient, aged 57, was admitted to the hospital for investigation of an unknown ascites, which was later diagnosed as peritoneal micropapillary adenocarcinoma secondary to ovarian neoplasm. During hospitalization, the patient presented a diffuse swelling on the left side of the face and facial asymmetry. Intraorally, a well-defined swelling extending from the left retromolar area to the premolar area was observed. On palpation, the intraoral swelling was asymptomatic, smooth, firm, and of normal color, with an evolution time of more than 5 years. Computed tomographic examination revealed biocortical expansion of the buccal plate, with a hypodense area containing multiple hyperdense spots associated with the crown of an unerupted tooth. An incisional biopsy was performed, and histopathologic examination showed calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor. In this case, the patient was initially referred for oncologic treatment, and subsequent maxillary treatment management will be undertaken.
