Resumo: Objective: to present a narrative review of different techniques for making nasal prostheses and present a methodological simplification of nasal sculpture for technical improvement. Study design: bibliographic surveys were carried out in 04 literature databases: Pubmed, Scielo, Bireme and academic Google. The search strategy used the keywords "Prosthesis", "Nasal", "Oral and maxillofacial", "Silicone", "Acrylic" and "Materials". Inclusion criteria considered experimental, observational and clinical case studies, published from 2010 to 2020, in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The sculpting steps are based on the addition technique, using wax for the base, nasal septum and nose wings; Plasticine for contouring the nasal septum and covering for the final sculptures (skin pores and surface textures). Results: a total of 35 articles were selected, after reviewing the titles and abstracts, 28 studies remained.The nasal reconstruction can be performed in three ways: surgical, prosthetic or associated. The most used materials are elastomers and polymethylmethacrylate, by conventional and digital methods. The nasal sculpture methodology demonstrated feasibility and ease of execution, as well as reduced clinical time. Conclusion: the techniques for making nasal prostheses have limitations and advantages that require knowledge for correct indication. Nose sculpting is an important technical complement to the final result of nasal rehabilitation.
