Resumo: Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare benign neoplasm derived from mesenchymal cells. The diagnosis is confirmed based on histopathology and immunohistochemistry. Immunohistochemical analysis is established by positivity for CD-34, CD99, Bcl-2 and negativity for S100 and smooth muscle actin. The clinical case describes a 59-year-old male patient, smoker, complaining of swelling in the region of the right buccal mucosa, with no report of pain. After incisional biopsy, the histopathological and immunohistochemical report confirmed SFT with Ki-67 equal to 1%. The treatment performed was exeresis of the lesion with a safety margin. Subsequently, the patient continued in outpatient follow-up. Despite being benign, long-term monitoring is necessary due to the possibility of recurrence. Its identification can often be challenging, so it is important to consider this tumor when evaluating submucosal nodules in the oral cavity.
