Resumo: Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacteria Treponema pallidum, presenting itself in different stages (primary, secondary, latent, and tertiary syphilis). This case describes a 3 year old female patient accompanied by her mother, reporting the appearance of lesions throughout the oral cavity with an unknown evolution time and no reported pain symptoms. Upon clinical examination, multiple slightly elevated plaques with a white surface and circumscribed ulcerated areas surrounded by a reddish halo were present on the bilateral cheek mucosa, upper lip mucosa, and the lateral border of the tongue. Non-treponemal tests, VDRL (Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) and treponemal tests such as FTA-ABS (Fluorescent Treponemal Antibody Absorption) were requested, with positive results, along with incisional biopsy, confirming the histopathological diagnosis of Secondary Syphilis. The patient was treated with antibiotic therapy, using benzathine penicillin during 10 days, and followed-up at the infectology outpatient clinic.
