Resumo: A 52 year old female was referred to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery service complaining of "discomfort in mouth". Medical history revealed the diagnosis of Sjogren´s syndrome eleven years before and the patient had been followed up by a rheumatologist since then. Intraoral examination revealed a diffuse erythematous ulcerated swelling on hard and soft palate, with raised borders and measuring 3,0 cm on its largest diameter. Clinical diagnosis were lymphoproliferative disorder or salivary gland tumor and an incisional biopsy was performed. Histological analysis of the HE-stained slides showed a proliferation of atypical lymphocytes compatible with lymphoproliferative disorder. Immunohistochemical reactions confirmed the diagnosis of mucosa associated lymphoid tissue-type B-cell lymphoma. The patient was referred to a hematologist and submitted to intravenous chemotherapy. After the end of the treatment, the palatal lesion showed complete remission and the patient is being followed up by rheumatologist and hematologist with no signs of recurrence.
