Nome do Apresentador: Camille Schipper SCHWARTZ

Categoria do Trabalho: Painel de caso clínico (PCC)

Área Temática: Estomatologia

Resumo: A 32-year-old male patient sought the maxillofacial surgery service due to volume increase in anterior region of left maxilla and elevation of nasal wing, with a 3-month evolution. On intra-oral examination, a firm swelling was observed, with hypercolored areas, involving left anterior vestibule, hard palate and mobility of maxillary teeth. In the anamnesis, he denied important information about medical history. A previous incisional biopsy showed a histopathological report of Central Giant Cell Lesion. Tomographic examination revealed an expansive lesion measuring 7cm in its largest diameter, bone destruction of the nasal fossa, floor and roof of left maxillary sinus, and root resorption. The patient underwent enucleation of the lesion under general anesthesia through Weber Ferguson access. Microscopy confirmed the previous report. In postoperative follow-up, he evolved with oroantral fistula. He was referred for the fabrication of occlusive prostheses, which were successfully obtained and in 10-month postoperative follow-up, there are no recurrences.
