Resumo: Oral fibro lipoma is a rare oral cavity lesion, and its relationship with diabetes mellitus has been controversial. The relationship between these two pathologies is discussed. A 43-year-old patient with a history of gestational diabetes mellitus presented a tumor mass in the left retromolar area of approximately 2x2x1cm, with a moriform surface and a firm consistency. The features of the lesion surface did not suggest a mesenchymal tumor but an epithelial lesion. However, due to its benign clinical appearance, an excisional biopsy was performed for diagnostic and treatment purposes. The histopathological examination showed a lesion composed of mature adipose cells in a fibrous stroma, establishing fibro lipoma diagnosis. Evolution was satisfactory.According to the literature, oral fibro-lipomas can be found in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus, and the relationship between these two conditions is still being investigated.
