Resumo: A 45-year-old edentulous woman diagnosed with Florid Cemento-Osseous Dysplasia (FCOD), rehabilitated with complete dentures, had been under clinical follow-up for six years due to intraoral exposure of some of the dysplastic areas. Panoramic radiographs obtained during clinical follow-up showed a change in the radiological aspect of the thin radiolucent line that typically surrounds the mineralized dysplastic component, which became an expansive multilocular radiolucent area in the posterior region of the left mandible. Computed tomography showed a hypodense scalloped area with density ranging from liquid to soft tissue (2 to 52 HU) associated to expansion and/or thinning of the buccal and lingual cortical plates. Incisional biopsy and histopathological analysis revealed a simple bone cyst (SBC) and the patient remains under clinical control. The association of FCOD with other lesions - such as SBC - is uncommon, and atypical radiographic appearances of FCOD should be investigated to provide appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
