Resumo: Patient #1: a 59-year-old woman presented with a firm and mobile nodule in the upper labial mucosa, which was reddish. There was a previous history of a swelling and purulent drainage followed by antibiotic therapy one month before. Patient #2: a 66-year-old man presented a firm and mobile nodule in the upper labial mucosa with no overlying mucosal changes associated with intermittent pain for the past four years. An adjacent orifice with purulent exudate was observed. Excisional biopsies were performed in both cases under the clinical diagnosis of sialolithiasis. Histopathological examination showed acinar atrophy and necrosis with ductal dilation, stromal fibrosis and infiltration by mononuclear leukocytes. Ductal squamous metaplasia was observed in one case. The final diagnosis of chronic sclerosing sialadenitis was established. Patients were asymptomatic without clinical evidences of recurrence after 30 and 6 months of treatment, respectively.
