Título: CANALICULAR ADENOMA IN THE BUCCAL MUCOSA: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: Canalicular adenoma (CA) is a rare benign tumor of the salivary glands, usually found almost exclusively in the minor salivary glands of the upper lip. Here in, we report a rare case of a CA in the left buccal mucosa. A 76-year-old woman with unremarkable medical history presented for the evaluation of the oral cavity due to an asymptomatic lesion on the left buccal mucosa, measuring approximately 3 cm in its largest diameters with 2 months of duration causing facial asymmetry. The excisional biopsy of the nodule under local anesthesia was performed for histopathological examination of the specimen. The histological sections revealed proliferation of cuboidal epithelial cells with hyperchromatic nuclei that formed single-layer cords and ductal structures arranged in long channels within a well-vascularized loose connective tissue stroma. There was no capsule surrounding the lesion. It was confirmed the final diagnosis of CA. The patient is under monitoring.
