Resumo: A 15-year-old male patient, melanoderm, sought dental care with a complaint of non-eruption of the lower right canine. A panoramic radiograph was requested and it showedthe presence of an impacted tooth 43 in a horizontal position displaced towards theapical region of the incisors and the presence of a compound odontoma projected closeto the occlusal surface of tooth 43. A cone beam computed tomography was performedfor better surgical planning, given that the treatment option was the removal of thedeciduous tooth 83, removal of the compound odontoma, followed by traction of tooth43. The surgical procedure was performed under local anesthesia by bilateral block.Antibiotics, analgesics, and mouthwash were prescribed, and seven days after theprocedure, the healing process was within normal limits and the stitches were removed. The patient is being monitored, awaiting the orthodontic traction procedure for thetooth.
