Resumo: Mucormycosis is an invasive fungal disease of rapid evolution, with possible rhinocerebral involvement, and the association with post SARS-CoV-2 infection has demonstrated clinical relevance. We report two cases of acute invasive mucormycosis involving oral cavity post-COVID-19. A biopsy was performed and histopathological examination showed a morphology consistent with Mucor spp. Patient was submitted to a multidisciplinary and surgical approach by the teams of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Ophthalmology and Dentistry. One case was proposed a provisory palatal obturator prosthesis for patient comfort. The Infectious Diseases team treated the patient with ceftazidime 2g/day for 5 days, later transitioned to clindamycin 600mg every 8 hours for approximately 2 months, associated with ciprofloxacin, and liposomal amphotericin b 100mg/day intravenously, was treated for 4 months. These case reports emphasize features to the early detection of oral mucormycosis and provide technical information to assist in the treatment of patients affected by these diseases.
