Área Temática: Estomatologia

Resumo: Objective: identify if the individual with positive serology for HIV has a higher risk of losing the dental implant or has a contraindication for this treatment. Study Design: it was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines and registered in the international prospective registry of systematic reviews PROSPERO. The databases consulted were: Medline via PubMed; Scopus; DARE Cochrane; LILACS; Base; and Google Scholar. The search descriptors: "HIV", "dental implants" and "AIDS" were used. To assess the methodological quality, the AMSTAR 2 tool was used and the entire process was reviewed in pairs, in addition to a third evaluator being consulted in case of disagreement. Results: 04 systematic reviews were included, encompassing 1,239 implants in 450 patients. The success rate of dental implants was 94.72% with a standard deviation of 0.455%. Three of them were classified as critically low quality and one as moderate quality. Conclusion: an implant survival rate similar was found in HIV-negative patients, so was observed that disease itself does not seem to have a significant influence on the osseointegration process. New controlled studies, with low bias and high methodological quality, are needed to ensure rehabilitation with dental implants with greater predictability and safety for the HIV+ individual. Æ
