Resumo: Objective: evaluate the Quality of Life (QoL) before and after cancer therapy in patients with Head and Neck Cancer. Design: This is a cross-sectional descriptive study, whose population consisted of 76 patients with HNC. The UW-QOL questionnaire was applied to assess QOL during the diagnosis period and after 180 days. The Wilcoxon test and the chi-square test were used to compare categorical data. A multivariate linear regression model was applied to assess the association between Delta scores and sociodemographic variables and clinical characteristics. Results: The sample consisted mostly of individuals with a mean age of 61.5 years and male (65.8%). There was a greater impact after cancer treatment in the physical domains of the UWQOL, with emphasis on swallowing (p=0.0003), speech (p=0.0003), saliva (p<0.0001), taste (p= 0.0001) and shoulder (p=0.0042). In the logistic regression model, none of the analyzed domains showed an effect modifier in isolation. Conclusion: patients had a greater impact after cancer treatment in the physical domains of the UWQOL, with emphasis on swallowing, speech, taste and shoulder. In the regression model, it is noted that all the factors analyzed worsened the quality of life, as none of the studied variables was associated in isolation.
