Resumo: One-year-old male newborn attended the dental clinic with a small fistula in the submental region, without clinical changes and absence of painful symptoms. An excisional biopsy was performed, and the fragment was of soft tissue, elongated in shape, and rubbery in consistency, measuring 35x15x10mm, with an irregular surface and brownish with black areas. The specimen was sent to the Pathology Laboratory, and the histopathological analysis observed a variable epithelial lining tissue, with the presence of intestinal epithelium, gastric mucosa with gastric crypts, and capsules with dense and loose connective tissue, reaching the final diagnosis of Oral Heterotopic Gastrointestinal Cyst. The treatment was performed with complete surgical removal, presenting a good prognosis and no recurrence. Although this situation is very rare, it should be included in the differential diagnosis of edema in the submandibular and submental region in the pediatric population.
