Resumo: Compound odontomas are slow-growing and asymptomatic benign tumors developed from epithelial and mesenchymal tissues that produce enamel and dentin. This case reports a 28-year-old female patient referred to the oral and maxillofacial surgery service due to an asymptomatic lesion in the mandible, diagnosed through routine panoramic radiography, with no comorbidities. The clinical examination revealed no alterations. The computed tomography revealed multiple hyperdense areas, circumscribed by a hypodense halo, located in the mandible symphysis and associated with the impacted right central incisor. The hypothesis diagnosis of compound odontoma was confirmed through an excisional biopsy and anatomopathological analyses. At the 1-year follow-up, we observed the new bone formation and maturation in the respective region on imaginological examination. The investigation and follow-up of unerupted teeth are important for diagnosing several conditions affecting the oral and maxillofacial region, including benign tumors.
