Resumo: Lipoma is a benign tumor of mesenchymal origin, composed of adipose tissue. This study aimed to report a clinical case of oral lipoma. Male patient , 61 years old, leukoderma, with two years of a 2 cm lesion on the right lower labial mucosa, without pain and bleeding. An excisional biopsy with a possible diagnostic hypothesis of mucocele or lipoma was performed. During the procedure, a fragment of soft tissue with a yellowish color and well-defined shape, elastic consistency, and smooth surface was observed. A microscopic examination revealed fragments of mucosa lined by parakeratinized stratified squamous epithelium and lamina propria of fibrous connective tissue with benign neoplasm of adipose tissue. Lobules of mature adipocytes separated by strands of fibrous connective tissue was observed, closing the diagnosis of oral lipoma. Patient is still being followed up, and after 6 months of the surgical procedure no recurrence of the lesion was observed.
