Nome do Apresentador: Arielly Mazon POLIZEL

Categoria do Trabalho: Painel de caso clínico (PCC)

Área Temática: Estomatologia

Resumo: Vascular anomalies are commonly present on the oral mucosas. These lesions can be treated with surgical and nonsurgical methods. In this report, a 41-year-old female patient had an erythematous nodule in the center of the dorsum of the tongue, measuring 5.0 mm, and circumscribed by adjacent vascular lesions. Firstly, the diode laser was used to biopsy excisional. Histopathology revealed numerous single endothelial lined vessels, characterizing lymphatic and blood vessels in the subepithelial region compatible with a diagnosis of lymphohemangioma. The patient is under follow-up to coagulation of the other vascular areas by the diode laser. A flexible quartz fiber held 3 mm from the lesion, using the continuous wave mode set was applied to the photocoagulation. The diode laser delivers the energy in a noncontact treatment, leading to the coagulation of the lesion in a minimally invasive manner with excellent healing, and no postoperative complication.
