Resumo: Polymorphous adenocarcinoma is a salivary gland neoplasm that represents 5% to 7% of all intraoral gland tumors, and accounts for 12% to 17% of malignant lesions. It is almost exclusively to minor salivary glands and about 73% of cases shows a mutation in the PRDK1 gene. A 66-year-old black female patient presented with a purplish swelling located in the transition of the soft and hard palate, with 2 months of evolution. The lesion measured approximately 2 cm in diameter. An incisional biopsy was performed, and histopathological examination showed a proliferation of monotonous cells in different architectural patterns. Areas of solid, cribriform, tubular and strand-like patterns were present. The tumor cells were round to polygonal, with oval and pale nuclei, and inconspicuous and single nucleoli with dispersed chromatin. Mitotic figures were absent. The patient was referred to oncological treatment and is being followed up.
