Resumo: A 26-year-old woman presented to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service complaining of increased volume in the anterior region of the mandible. Intraoral examination revealed a hardened edema in the mandibular vestibule, pain on palpation, moderate mobility in the anterior teeth and mentual asymmetry. The patient underwent panoramic radiography 6 months ago, where a radiolucent lesion was observed crossing the mandibular midline, with well-defined areas, disrupting the buccal and lingual corticals, without displacement or root resorption of adjacent teeth. An incisional biopsy was performed and the histopathological diagnosis was a central giant cell lesion, after the exclusion of other giant cell lesions. The choice treatment was cycles of triamcinolone hexacetonide 20 mg/ml, infiltrated for each 1 cm3 of a radiolucent area of the lesion, since it has the function of inhibiting osteoclasts, enabling bone neoformation. Thus, it becomes the treatment of choice for non-aggressive lesions, leading to excellent clinical results.
