Título: BURNING MOUTH SYNDROME AND SJOGREN´S SYNDROME: CASE SERIES

Resumo: This study included three postmenopausal female patients with average of age from 55 to 77 years, who presented symptoms associated with Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS). All patients were submitted to Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) to BMS. Additionally, symptoms compatible with Sjogren´s Syndrome (SS) were observed. The SS diagnosis was done. In all cases, incisional biopsy of minor salivary gland and sialometry were performed for confirm the diagnosis. Patient 1 was diagnosed with SS after 11 sessions of PBMT, patient 2 and 3 were diagnosed with SS after 15 sessions of PBMT. The PBMT combinate to BMS and SS was proposed using low-level laser at a dose of 2J/cm² applied to the area affected by the burning sensation and to the region of the bilateral major salivary glands. The patients were follow-up in our service to treatment both conditions with PBMT.
