Título: AMELOBLASTIC CARCINOMA IN A YOUNG PATIENT - CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 21-year-old female who smoked in the past, complained about mouth ulcers increasing for 6 months. Clinically, she showed a 8 cm reddish mass in the right mandible, hardened, smooth with a granulomatous appearance and a diastema between premolars. There was tooth mobility but no paresthesia or pain. Computed tomography showed an osteolytic lesion with irregular margins, involving the entire alveolar bone, down to mandibular base, in the region between right first inferior molar and left inferior canine, with preservation of the mandibular canal and resorption of tooth roots. An incisional biopsy was performed, and histopathological examination showed a proliferation of odontogenic epithelial cells, in a solid growth pattern. The final diagnosis was ameloblastic carcinoma, a rare odontogenic epithelial tumor, which is the malignant counterpart of ameloblastoma. The patient was referred for oncological treatment.
