Resumo: Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is an autoimmune disease in which proteins in the surface layers of the skin and oral mucosa are wrongly attacked by the immune system, causing painful blisters to erupt. A 41-year-old male, diagnosed with PV in 2018 in the reference hospital, being treated with azathioprine, underwent biopsy of ulcerated lesion on lower lip in 2022, having the histopathological report compatible with PV in activity. Recently, he was referred to the dental service. Physical examination revealed poor dental health, ulcerated lesions in distinct areas, gingival erythema, presence of tongue coating and lower lip with bleeding when touched due dryness. The oral lesions were adjusted by prescribing clobetasol propionate in topical solution and in cream 0,05% and lip sunscreen, combined with oral hygiene instructions and dental treatment, improving quality of life. This report demonstrates the need for dentists to have extensive knowledge about this entity to provide correct management.
