Título: SOFT TISSUE ORAL LIPOMA WITH OSTEOID DFERENTIATION - A CASE REPORT

Resumo: Lipomas are benign mesenchymal neoplasms of adipose tissue. Microscopic variations can be found as fibrous, chondroid, angiomatous, and rarely osteoid differentiation. This is case report of an lipoma with osteoid differentiation in a male patient, 58 years, with the complaining a "cartilage in the mouth that is increasing in size", noticed 5 year earlyer. Clinical evaluation disclosed an asymptomatic yellowish, soft swelling in the right side buccal mucosa, measuring 1.5 cm, covered by healthy mucosa. With the clinical hypothesis of a benign neoplasia, probably a lipoma. An excisional biopsy and microscopic analysis were performed showing a mature adipocytes nodule, interspaced by dense connective tissue with areas of focal bone tissue. The definitive diagnosis was Lipoma with osteoid differentiation. The patient six months follow-up do not presented signs of recurrence.
