Resumo: Surgical resection of benign and malignant neoplasms can generate considerable tissue loss that compromises the stomatognathic tract. Oroantral communication, as a result of extensive removal of palatal tissue, is an example and can cause difficulties in swallowing, breathing, and phonation. So that patients with oroantral communication recuperate such skills, the dentist can make a palate obturator prosthesis. This case study aims to report 3 cases of prosthetic rehabilitation in patients with oroantral communication because of antineoplastic treatment. After the resection of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) or pleomorphic adenoma (PA), the patients sought public health services because they had speech and swallowing difficulties. All were rehabilitated with palate obturator prostheses. As a result, all improved their quality of life through increased comfort during breathing and food intake, facilitated communication through improved phonation, and increased self-esteem through the gain of independence and positive body self-image.
