Resumo: Objective: Verify and rate the number of students who are or were users of cigarette, hookah, marijuana or vapes and investigate the frequency in which the use of these substances among the students happens. Study design: A descriptive, quantitative and non-interactive research, made through "Google Forms", being applied on college students. The population was composed of 2200 people, all Chapecó students. Results: The sample was composed by 226 students, with ages between 18 and 56. Of all the participants, 174 students said that they have tried some smoky substance at least once in their lives. The reasons why are: curiosity, friendship influence, to relax, being under the influence of alcohol and anxiety. Substance-wise, 54% make use of hookah in a frequent manner, 28,6% report a frequent use of marijuana, 26,1% report the frequent use of vapes. When compared to the regular cigarette, 73,4% agree that the usage of said substances are not less harmful than it. Conclusion: The result of the poll shows us how smoky substances are very present in our society, especially among young students.
