Resumo: Facial mutilations are any type of mutilation in the head and neck structure, including anatomical structures such as ear, nose, eyelid, chin, hard and soft palate and other face tissues. The rehabilitation of mutilated patients includes not only the technical part involved in the production of a prosthesis, but also the psychosocial aspects of this individual. The application of additive manufacturing in healthcare is increasing by the day, the ability to segment a Computed Tomography scan and generate a 3D object simplifies visualization bringing accuracy to the facial prosthesis´ production. The purpose of this paper is to present two clinical cases showing how optimization using the additive manufacturing to create a prosthesis prototype results in more efficiency to the sculpture step, delivering more accuracy to the prosthesis, which leads to more natural results, bringing to these patients more comfort, identification and quality of life, reinserting them into society.
