Resumo: AIDS-associated disseminated Kaposi´s Sarcoma is the most common HIV-associated neoplasm, caused by the human herpes virus 8. It is rare, has a rapid, progressive and highly fatal course, if untreated. It mainly affects the skin and mucous membranes. A 25-year-old man was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS 4 months before the onset of the skin lesions. He is under antiretroviral therapy since diagnosis. At hospital admission presented an elevated viral load, low CD4 count and kidney and liver dysfunction. On physical examination, multiple violaceous lesions were observed on the skin of the trunk and 2 oral lesions: one located on vestibular gingiva of teeth 15-17 and another on vestibular gingiva of teeth 41-43. Antiretroviral and antineoplastic treatment was initiated; however, prognosis is somber. But patient had a poor evolution and intensive care was necessary. Despite being rare, early diagnosis and treatment are essential, influencing the reduction of mortality rates.
