Resumo: Oral melanoma is a very rare and aggressive malignancy with a very poor prognosis, accounting for 0.2% to 8.0% of all malignant melanomas. A 78-year-old female was referred to Stomatology Department to evaluate a painless blackened lesion in the lower lip, lasting 04 months. The patient had a recente medical history of basal cell carcinoma on malar region and squamous cell carcinoma on nasal tip, 3 months before. The oral examination showed a pigmented lesion with undefined borders on the lower lip, measuring 4 cm. An incisional biopsy was performed. The histopathological analysis established the diagnosis of oral in situ melanoma. The treatment included radiotherapy associated to intraoral stent and bolus, in order to prevent oral toxicities. The patient is under the 5 years of follow-up with no evidence of oral complicatons. This case also emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary team using devices during radiotherapy.
