Resumo: A 44-year-old woman had mouth sores for 20 days after having front teeth extracted a month prior. No abnormalities were recorded on the general physical examination. On intraoral examination, a sessile, purplish nodule measuring 1.3 cm, soft to touch, painless, in the region of the upper incisors was detected, concomitant with an ulcer in the upper right molar region with raised edges, reddish in color, measuring 2 cm and asymptomatic. Incisional biopsies were performed in both lesions, and, they showed similar histopathological features, both comprised mainly by round cells, which were positive for CD138 and lambda light chain restriction; and negative for CD20 and CD3. A final diagnosis of plasmablastic lymphoma was made on the basis of cell morphology and the immunohistochemical profile. After this, the patient was diagnostic with positive serological for HIV. She was referred to the hematology team for treatment.
