Resumo: Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor accounts for 2% to 7% of all odontogenic tumors. Most cases occur in the second decade of life. It is frequently associated with the crown of an unerupted tooth. A 16-year-old male patient sought dental care for "cyst removal" identified in a routine panoramic radiograph. The intraoral physical examination revealed a patient in the mixed dentition phase wearing an orthodontic appliance. Normal colored mucosa and slight bulging in the region of the teeth 11 and 12 in the buccal aspect were observed. Cone beam computed tomography scan revealed a well-defined hypodense image showing occasional hyperdense foci, located predominantly buccally between the roots of teeth 11 and 12. Buccal cortical plate expansion and erosion was also present. An excisional biopsy was performed by curettage. The established histopathological diagnosis was adenomatoid odontogenic tumor. During the 7-month follow-up, the patient was clinically and radiographically reassessed with no signs of recurrence.
