Resumo: Salivary gland tumors account for 2-3% of head and neck tumors. Among them, pleomorphic adenoma (PA) is the most common benign lesion. We present a case of a 60-years-old woman that attended a stomatology service presenting a submucosal nodule in left buccal mucosa, with normochromic smooth surface, mobile, rubbery consistency, painless to manipulation, measuring approximately 1 cm in its largest diameters with 8 months of duration. No previous treatment was performed. The patient didn't report any other medical conditions. Diagnostic hypotheses include PA and other benign tumors from mesenchymal tissue or salivary glands. Excisional biopsy was performed. The final diagnosis was PA based on histopathological findings. Although the occurrence of PA in the minor salivary glands of the buccal mucosa is uncommon, the early establishment of a correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment are important because they permit effective management of the condition and improvement in the prognosis of patients.
