Resumo: This study aims to describe the rehabilitation of a patient with cleft involving the soft palate that requires an interdisciplinary approach comprising at least medical, dentist and speech pathologist. The patient, female, diagnosed with cleft soft palate, clinodactyly in the 5th digits and no associated syndrome began her interdisciplinary treatment at one year old with palatoplasty procedure and continued until adulthood. The oral rehabilitation involved pediatric dentistry, orthodontist and prosthodontist. In childhood, she received palatal prostheses as a treatment for velopharyngeal dysfunction. According to the speech therapy approach, she uses pharyngeal obturador to eliminate hypernasality. The patient also presented interarch and maxillomandibular discrepancies, which required orthodontic treatments. It was concluded that for a complete rehabilitation of an individual with cleft palate, an interdisciplinary approach following a treatment protocol in a specialized center, is necessary in order to reestablish the aesthetics, phonetics and function, as well as social and emotional integration.
