Resumo: Mucormycosis is considered an opportunist and infection which may affect immunosuppressed patients. Even being considered uncommon, their occurrence may increase during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to report two cases of rhinomaxillary mucormycosis. The first patient was female, 56 years old and had maxillary swelling and facial discomfort as the symptoms. The second patient was male, 72 years old and already presented exposed necrotic bone of the maxilla. Both had been diagnosed with diabetes mellitus type 2 and were negligent with their treatments. CT images showed maxillary obliteration and avascular bone in both cases. Histopathological results confirmed fungal infection diagnosis. Patients had been submitted to oral surgery to remove unviable bone and to perform sinusotomy in the maxillary sinus. They also had been treated with amphotericin B by the team of Infectiology and are under follow-up.
