Resumo: Ameloblastoma is a benign odontogenic tumor with locally infiltrative growth pattern in bone trabeculae that usually affects the posterior mandible in adult individuals. The surgical approach, based on clinical, radiographic and histopathological characteristics, usually consists for excision including normal bone beyond the lesion. And when this neoplasm is diagnosed in childhood? The expansive nature of this pathology would bring oral myofunctional sequelae throughout the child´s life? What about the psychosocial repercussions? These questions are discussed here through the presentation of a clinical case of a 10-year-old patient, female, with ameloblastoma in focus of the surgical, oral myofunctional and psychological issues of the child and the importance of the patient care team that involved dentist, speech therapy and psychologist for her rehabilitation.
