Título: ORAL SECONDARY SYPHILIS MIMICKING ORAL MANIFESTATIONS OF SYSTEMIC ERYTHEMATOSUS LUPUS

Resumo: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a systemic, multifaceted autoimmune inflammatory disease with an unknown etiology. On the other hand, Syphilis caused by infection by Treponema pallidum, is classically knowledge as a "great imitator", due to its broad spectrum of manifestations which can mimicking several immunommediated disease as lichen planus, SLE, pemphigus, multiform erythema, and others. We will present a series of six cases of patients with Oral Secondary Syphilis mimicking oral manifestation of SLE. 5 patients were woman and 1 man, with an average age 36 years-old. All patients were serological confirmed by FTAabs. The oral lesions were predominantly erythematous, associated with reticular aspect, located mainly in lips, tongue and palate. Sometimes patients reported some oral discomfort, but in general the oral lesions were asymptomatic. There were in some patients, general symptoms such as fatigue, weight loss, malaise, joint pain, maculopapular skin lesions whose can be found in SLE.
