Resumo: Calcifying odontogenic cyst (COC) is a rare lesion, accounting for less than 1 % of jaw cysts. It is classified among development cyst in the WHO classification of tumors of the head and neck in 2017. A 26-year-old female patient presented an asymptomatic swelling located on the right mentual region that had been growing over the past 8 years. Intraoral examination revealed a palpable mass of solid conscience from tooth 42 to the 45, measured 2,5cm, no alteration on the surface. Tooth 42 had mobility. Cone beam computed tomography showed a well-defined cystic lesion of mixed appearance extending from 42 to 45, measuring 3cm causing bone expansion. Periapical inflammatory cyst associated to a root remnant or a COC were raised as diagnostic hypothesis. Enucleation and e tooth extraction were performed. Histopathological examination was compatible with COC. Long-term follow-up is advocated to prevent recurrences.
