Título: A CASE SERIES: CANCER IN BUCCAL MUCOSA IN PATIENTS WITH FANCONI ANEMIA

Resumo: All patients in this case series were diagnosed with Fanconi Anemia (FA) and underwent allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) to treat bone marrow failure associated with the underlying disease. Participants in this study developed oral squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) with similar clinical manifestations in buccal mucosa. Two women and four men were included in this report. Of these, two manifested Oral Graft Versus Host Disease (GVHD). Regarding oral cancer treatment, 4 underwent surgery only, one patient underwent surgery associated with radiotherapy and one underwent surgical treatment in addition to chemotherapy and radiotherapy as adjuvant therapies. Threepatients died 1 year after diagnosis, one died 2 years after diagnosis, one died in the same year of diagnosis and only one is alive and is being followed up. Factors such age at HSCT, oral GVHD presence and clinical characteristics should be observed, as they may increase the risk of developing malignant neoplasms.
