Título: TREATMENT OF ODONTOGENIC KERATOCYST IN THE MANDIBLE: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 38-year-old male patient was referred to the surgery service with a complaint of swelling in the gum region of the mandible. During the physical examination, an increase in volume was observed in the left mandible with the discharge of purulent secretion. The patient reported being HIV-positive for eight years, with follow-up and antiretroviral treatment, currently with undetectable viral load. Imaging showed a unilocular radiolucent image in the region of the left mandibular angle and body involving the crown of an unerupted tooth 38, extending close to the roots of 36. The procedure performed was cystic enucleation and curettage and extraction of tooth 38 without complications. Based on clinical and histopathological findings, the diagnosis was Odontogenic Keratocyst. The patient has been satisfactorily undergoing periodic clinical and radiographic follow-up for 12 months, with no complaints, with signs of local bone neoformation and no recurrence.
