Título: Lingual thromboembolism post SARS-Cov-2 virus infection/ vaccination.

Resumo: SARS-Cov-2 virus has in its composition the Spike protein, responsible for the entry and release of viral RNA in human cells; infection triggers hyperinflammation of the body, inducing an immune response, causing hemodynamic changes, with coagulation disorders, platelet activation and blood stasis. In addition, the coronavirus vaccine has been related to cases of thrombocytopenia and thrombosis in atypical sites due to the production of antibodies against platelet antigens. We report a case affecting a female, 63 years old patient, diagnosed with lingual thromboembolism after vaccination against the coronavirus, having been infected by the virus before the thrombotic condition. Physical examination revealed that the patient was obese with controlled hypertension. Hematologic exams confirmed hyperdipidemia and hypertriglyceridemia. An excisional biopsy was performed and anatomopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis. The patient was referred to the cardiologist for further attention and was released after 2 weeks of uneventful post surgical control.
