Resumo: Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common benign mixed tumor of the salivary glands. It is characterized by a painless, firm, and slow-growing swelling, mostly in the parotid gland. The proper diagnosis and management are important to avoid its enlargement and the risk of malignancy. A 44-year-old male presented with facial asymmetry caused by a firm and painless swelling in the right submandibular region that had been growing for eight months. An ultrasound examination was performed, and the gray-scale imaging revealed a heterogeneous hypoechoic mass in the parenchyma of the right submandibular gland, presenting well-defined festooned contours and posterior acoustic enhancement. Sparse internal vascularity was observed at the Doppler-mode. The imaging led to diagnostic of a benign mixed glandular tumor. A mass measuring approximately 3.5 centimetres was surgically excised, and the histological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of a pleomorphic adenoma.
