Resumo: Odontomas are common odontogenic tumors considered hamartomas that may lead to interference with the eruption of associated teeth. In this case, a 13-year-old Caucasian female patient reported to the stomatology clinic with a complaint of prolonged retention of the mandibular right deciduous canine. Panoramic radiography revealed an area with increased radiopacity similar to tooth structure surrounded by a thin radiolucent margin in the region of tooth 43 suggestive of a complex odontoma. Cone-beam computed tomography scan showed the permanent canine to be impacted below the odontoma. The treatment plan involved surgical removal of the odontoma, followed by perforation of the enamel at the tip of the crown of tooth 43 to allow orthodontic traction into the dental arch, in an attempt to restore normal esthetic and functional conditions. The patient is currently undergoing orthodontic treatment, and regular follow-up appointments are being scheduled to monitor progress.
